Photofacials in Austin, TX

There are many places to get photofacials in Austin, TX. We have heard horror stories of patients getting burned left with “zebra stripes” or blisters! Don’t let this happen to you, we have extensive knowledge about skin and our machine. Our procedures are never performed by an esthetician! We have a very unique IPL treatment machine that allows maximum results with little downtime.

What is a Photofacial?

Photofacial is also called Intense Pulse Light treatments. We offer the best IPL photofacials in Austin, TX! Photofacial uses a broad spectrum light to eliminate dark spots, sun spots, aged spots, acne, and wrinkles! When the light flashes, it warms the skin to stimulate the body’s natural healing process, as well as collagen growth underneath the skin.

Our IPL treatment technology

At Flawless Fillers we use the newest technology which is a Krypton light energy. Therefore, Krypton energy emitted is superior, safer, more comfortable and less side effects than regular IPL light technology. A common side effect seen with other IPL treatments is a sloughing off of skin which is NOT seen with the laser we use. Therefore we see superior results with very little downtime/side effects.

What areas are approved for IPL photofacial?

IPL treatments are used on the face, neck, chest, arms, legs! We have a unique skin rejuvenation wands that assists with evening skin tone. In addition, we also have a skin tightening wand that tightens loose skin anywhere on the body. We tighten the abdomen, legs, arms, face/neck.

What do I need to do before getting an IPL?

Stop all Retin A, Glycolic acid, and prescription face medications for 2 weeks. Avoid sun exposure 8 weeks prior to all IPL treatments. Please do NOT wear makeup/moisturizer prior to IPL treatments. Please call or text about other medications.

What can I expect during an IPL Photofacial?

You will experience very little discomfort during the IPL treatments. It’s comparative to a rubber band on your skin. A test spot will be applied on the skin to ensure comfort. After the IPL treatments, most clients experience a feeling like a sunburn on your face. Apply sunscreen with zinc oxide and titanium dioxide. These ingredient protect against UVA and UVB exposure. It is important to avoid all sun exposure before and after all IPL treatments.

What can I expect immediately after the IPL Photofacial?

Immediately following all IPL treatments, an ice pack may be applied to soothe the treated area. A topical antibiotic cream or ointment is recommended. Therefore, care should be taken in the first few days following treatment to avoid scrubbing the area, and abrasive skin cleansers should be avoided. During the course of IPL treatments, we recommend that patients cover the area with a sunscreen and exposure to the sun.

How many IPL treatments are recommended?

We recommend getting 3-4 IPL treatments to see maximum results. As a result, many of our clients notice differences just after one IPL treatment depending on the areas needing correction.

Is there any downtime after?

There is virtually no downtime after IPL treatments. Therefore, most of our clients apply makeup right after the IPL treatments in our office! Sometimes hyperpigmentation, hypopigmentation, redness, light speckling of the skin can occur but usually resolves in a few days.
